Beamsville, Ontario, nestled along Lake Ontario’s southern shore in the town of Lincoln, is a charming community with a population of around 13,323. Known for its blend of historic charm and modern amenities, Beamsville features century-old buildings, a quaint downtown, and a thriving agricultural landscape full of orchards and vineyards. As part of the Niagara Peninsula’s fruit belt, it has a rich agricultural heritage.
Founded in 1788 by United Empire Loyalist Jacob Beam and his family, Beamsville’s roots run deep. Jacob’s original home on Thirty Mile Creek, along with another near downtown, still stand today. By 1869, Beamsville had grown into a village with 550 people and was connected via the Great Western Railway. At the time, the average price of land in the area was $45. Cool fact! In 1898, Beamsville’s hockey players made history as the first to use a hockey net.
Today, Beamsville is at the heart of Ontario’s wine country, contributing significantly to the region’s wine industry, with many local wineries earning prestigious awards, including Grape King titles at the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival and international recognition.
